Robert Mehalso, PhD, Technical Advisory Board
Robert Mehalso is President of Microtec Associates, a consulting company providing micro- and nanotechnology intellectual property, engineering, manufacturing and business development expertise to universities, governments, and industry. Dr. Mehalso has consulted with over 100 companies on the commercialization and business of micro and nanosystems and developed strategies with corporate management to establish a vision of the future on business development, mergers, and acquisitions, and with product engineering groups to develop new products using advanced micromanufacturing technologies. Bob holds a B.S. in Ceramic Science from Pennsylvania State University, and a M.S and Ph.D. in Materials Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He is an Alumni Fellow of the Pennsylvania State University and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and has received numerous honors and awards. Bob’s experience provides direction to the Groton Biosystems team.
Mel Koch, PhD, Technical Advisory Board
Mel Koch is Director of the Center for Process Analytical Chemistry (CPAC), an industry/university/government consortium at the University of Washington, Seattle, WA. Dr. Koch worked for The Dow Chemical Company in process research and analytical chemistry, achieving the level of Global Director of Analytical Sciences. He is active in coordinating developments in the field of process analytical technology (PAT) between industry, government laboratories, and academia. Mel provides technical guidance to our Team on product strategies, as well as offering his insights on trends in the market.
