To support the growing biofuel industry, Groton Biosystems offers unique sampling systems to handle the viscous and dense broth found in both corn and biomass fermentations. Automated sampling systems are available for biofuel fermentors and online analysis is possible via high pressure liquid chromatography (HPLC- sugar and ethanol), fraction collection and nutrient monitors. Monitor saccharification process, monitor the effect of different pre-treatments and/or enzymatic treatments on varied biomass, monitor the effects of enzyme cocktails on complex cellulose cell walls and monitor xylose (Nutrient Monitor).

Fermentation Trending - Automated sampling offers consistent data output necessary for trend analysis. Frequent sampling of the fermentation cycle monitor the trends of Carbohydrates, Organic Acid Development and Alcohol Development.

Fermentation Management - Early Process Control through increased real time analysis in the early stage of fermentation determines the outcome of the fermentation cycle. Frequent, consistent and timely samples provides ability to manage/control fermentor.

Fermentation Process Optimization - Late Process Control through increased real time analysis in the end stage of fermentation to determine the harvest end point and increase name plate capacity.

  • Schedule your Sample Draw via the ARS-M Automated Reactor Sampler
