Boxborough, MA - Groton Biosystems announced today new instrument interface kits for their ARS series of sampling instruments. These kits permit an ARS Automated Reactor Sampling System to connect through a proprietary sterile interface to a variety of analytical instruments. Nutrient monitor interface options include kits for the YSI 7100 Mutiparameter Bioanalytical System, the YSI 2700 SELECT™ Biochemistry Analyzer, and the Nova BioProfile® Analyzer series. Cell counter interface options include the Innovatis Cedex Cell Counter Analyzer and the Beckman Vi-CELL™ Series Cell Viability Analyzer. The ARS also interfaces to many HPLC systems, including the Agilent 1200 LC systems, as well as the Groton Refrigerated Fraction Collector.

The modularity of the ARS System provides biotechnology production facilities the ability to implement automated sampling of bioreactors or fermentors and permit near real-time online, hands free monitoring. The ARS technology enables biotech production facilities to monitor nutrients, proteins, ethanol and organic acids in multiple bioreactors and fermentation tanks using Groton Biosystems' unique and proprietary process for automatically sampling, sample preparation, and sample delivery to existing instrumentation.

"We are pleased to release these new interface kits for the ARS product line. These new products continue our company's strategic plan to integrate online analytical capabilities in laboratory to full production scale biotech applications. The expanded ARS product line now provides automation capabilities for all standard biotech assays and will provide our customers the enabling analytical technology to implement FDA PAT guidelines in their facilities," said Groton CSO George Barringer
