When combined with capillary electrophoresis this contactless conductivity detector creates a sensitive detection scheme for a variety of analytes; including inorganic and small organic ions, amino acids, therapy drugs, and others. This contactless conductivity detector operates by imposing a regulated AC voltage across the external wall of the measurement capillary forming an effective small volume detection window. The current resulting from the imposed AC voltage is proportional to the conductivity of the analyte.

All of our detectors are modular and are compatible with CE, HPLC and FIA applications. These detectors can easily be mounted externally to Groton Biosystems HPCE units or any other supplier's systems that are compatible with external detection systems. It is possible with our detectors to develop multiple, serial detection strategies for those difficult samples or to optimize information content of those trace quantity samples that every lab encounters from time to time. Groton Biosystems HPCE instruments can even be easily interfaced to your Mass Spectrometer providing the ultimate in HPCE detection.
